Groundwater is vital to Minnesota's present and future prosperity. Groundwater is at risk of overuse and contamination in several areas of the state. The goal of the Groundwater Program is to ensure that use of groundwater is sustainable and does not harm ecosystems, water quality, or the ability of future generations to meet their needs.

Groundwater Strategic Plan - Draft

The DNR is improving its Groundwater Management Program to meet the new challenges we are facing. This new pathway to groundwater sustainability is outlined in the Draft Groundwater Strategic Plan.
